For the first time we tried breaking the world record for the most disc cases toppled in a domino fashion with 10,266 disc cases. Mag. Ulf Schöttl (head of marketing of the main sponsor Manner) toppled the first disc case. Exactly 10,265 more cases followed and fell down perfectly.
We decided to break the record for the largest stick bomb for the third year in a row. After the stick bomb failed in 2014 it was successful in the following year. In summer 2015 American students broke the record so we decided setting up more then 40,000 sticks. Exactly 40,910 sticks (as you know them from the doctor) were triggered by 3 mouse traps and ‘exploded’. The stick bomb stopped after about 5 seconds but the chain reaction continued because a safety line was set up next to the stick bomb.
The safety line triggered the third and last record: The longest domino wall with a length of 40.14 meters (131.69 feet). It included 42,173 dominoes and fell over 2 minutes. Some meters before the wall finished the stick bomb was triggered again and the rest of the sticks ‘exploded’ simultaneously.
